Announcement:

The North Caldwell Police Department is seeking a Basic 911 Officer and Emergency Medical Dispatch candidate to apply for the position of Police Dispatcher.

Applications are posted on our website and available for download or to pick up in person at the North Caldwell Police Department.

Candidates must fill out the application in its entirety and submit it along with a resume. If certified, please provide a copy of the Basic 911 and EMD certificates.

Candidates must have a high school diploma, a Valid NJ Driver’s license, and must pass a background check.

The starting Salary is $40,000 with a top pay of $58,000 after eight steps. Dispatchers also receive additional compensation for 13 paid holidays.

The North Caldwell Police Department in Essex County, NJ, is hiring qualified applicants to fill per diem dispatcher positions. The Salary ranges from $20-$25 per hour based on experience.

The schedule will be various 6 or 12-hour shifts, including nights, holidays, and weekends.

Title:  SPECIAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER CLASS III

The North Caldwell Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Class III Special Law Enforcement Officers to work at the West Essex Regional School District.

Qualifications for Special Law Enforcement Officer (SLEO) Class III are as follows:
Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:Must be a citizen of the United States and a resident of New Jersey.

Must possess a valid New Jersey Driver's license.

Able to perform all the tasks and duties of a SLEO Class III.

Must be a retired officer who has previously served as a duly qualified, full time law enforcement .officer in any municipality, county, agency of this state, bi-state agency, or federal agency. Break in service must not exceed three (3) years.

Must be retired from that agency in good standing (necessary to have a letter of good standing issued by the agency from which officer retired, listing the date and type of retirement). A copy of this letter will be submitted to the PTC.

Must be less than 65 years of age for appointment.

Must pass a psychological exam, a medical exam, and a drug screening pursuant to Attorney.

General’s Law Enforcement Drug Testing Policy.

Must successfully pass an updated background investigation to be conducted by this agency.

Must successfully complete School Resource Officer training within 12 months of appointment.

Salary for the Class III Special Police Officer shall be $30.00 per hour. The schedule is yet to be determined.  The Class III Special Police Office shall only work when school is in session.
