Seniors

In 1973 a group of North Caldwell Seniors got together and formed a club in effort to keep active and to meet with people their own age, thus the Seniors of North Caldwell was formed. Any resident of North Caldwell who has attained the age of 55 is invited to join.

Meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month from September to June at 1:00 pm at Firemen’s Community Center located on Gould Avenue. The meetings include speakers on many stimulating topics including medical and educational issues. Blood pressure screening occurs from 11:30 to 1:00 pm. Flu Shots: Available usually in October or early November, this year’s date is Wednesday November 1st at North Caldwell Firehouse located on Gould Avenue from 10:00-12:00 noon.

Bus Trips: Day Bus trips are usually the second Wednesday of the month to theaters and places of interest. Twice a year overnight trips are offered.  Please contact Gert Cannella at 973.228.4983 for more information regarding senior activities and going on trips.

Senior Fitness: A Fall and Spring session are held on Tuesday and Thursday Mornings at Firemen’s Community Center from 10:15-11:15 am. The class is a low to no impact smooth movement to gentle music. Registration forms are given out at the senior monthly meetings or can be obtained at the Recreation Office.
